Important!
Please firstly send us to info@huntinspain.com a scanned copy of passport and your local hunting license (i.e. UK Shotgun certificate for UK citizens; Jagdshein for German citizens; Jagdkarte for Austrian citizens; Jachtakte for Netherlands citizens; Lovecky Listek for Czech Republic citizens, etc.)
According to the Spanish regulations, it is mandatory that rifle and ammunition travel separately, in hard cases with a lock.
It is also important to know that suppressors or silencers are forbidden in Spain.

EU-Member Countries
Remember that you are allowed to bring maximum of five guns per hunter.
Travelling in the European Union with guns is easy if you have a valid European Firearm Pass. It must be shown at your arrival to check serial numbers when picking up your guns in the “Guardia Civil Intervención de armas” Station at the airport. This document certifies that your guns are truly yours, so you will be able to move all in the European Union just showing this document.

UK - Citizens
Remember that you are allowed to bring maximum of three guns per hunter.
UK citizens travelling to Spain with the purpose of participating in hunting expeditions should apply for an Authorization to hunt/import guns in Spain at the “Guardia Civil”. Huntinspain will apply in your name for this document, but you will need to send us and provide the following information:
- Scanned copy of passport.
- Scanned copy of UK Shotgun certificate (All pages).
- Specific gun details (brand, caliber and serial number).
- Exact flight details for both arrival & departure.
- Payment of the fee tax form (Huntinspain)
Once we receive “Gun Import Authorization”, we will send you a scanned copy, as it must also be presented upon your arrival when clearing guns at “Guardia Civil Intervención de armas” Station at the airport

US- Citizens or orther non EU-Member countries
Remember that you are only allowed to bring three guns per hunter.
Non-EU- citizens travelling to Spain with the purpose of participating in hunting expeditions need to apply for a permit at the General Consulate of Spain in their region and present the following
documents:
- Valid passport.
- Valid hunting license.
- Translation form for Hunting license.
- Application form for hunting permit.
- Complete airline itinerary. Traveler’s name and last name, flight dates, airline, flight
number, route and airports. - Letter of invitation from Spain with dates, places, provinces and Autonomous Community
where the activity will take place and informing if the hunter will use a gun provided by
the outfitter in Spain or he/she will be bringing his/her own (Huntinspain provides this
document) - Payment of the fee Form.
** Please note that it is important to contact Consulates well in advanced (at least two months
before the Hunt starts), otherwise you may not have enough time to get paperwork
completed.

Clothing and gear
The weather in Salamanca and Spain in general is very pleasant throughout most of the year, with a Mediterranean climate and mild temperatures. At the beginning of the season (August–September), the weather is dry, although some showers are common during the rut.
We recommend bringing comfortable clothing and footwear. There are no restrictions regarding the use of camouflage clothing.
Flights
The main gateway to Spain is through Madrid-Barajas International Airport, located about 3 hours from the estate by road. You can fly to Madrid from nearly all major cities in the United States and Europe.
The closest airport to the estate and hunting areas is Salamanca-Matacán Airport, located just 30 minutes from the estate. This airport is available exclusively for private or military flights, which can be convenient for partridge hunting groups, especially those coming from Europe. If you are traveling with a group of friends, chartering a plane can often be more comfortable and sometimes even more cost-effective than purchasing individual tickets to Madrid.
Transfers
Transfers are usually done in private cars from Madrid, with a travel time of about 2 hours to the estate. Along the way, you can visit places like Ávila and its Medieval Stone Wall, as well as El Escorial, the palace of Emperor Philip II.
Once in Salamanca, transfers to and from the estate are made using vehicles owned by Huntinspain & Alfonso Fabrés. If needed, luxury cars or large buses can be rented for transportation.
The estate has a helipad available, as well as helicopter transport service throughout Spain.
Trophy shipping
After the hunt, Huntinspain & Alfonso Fabrés takes care of the initial taxidermy or trophy preparation.
The hides are salted and dried for preservation, and the skulls and horns are cleaned and prepared for export.
